Getting your data out

You can disconnect Instagram, delete what Rep AI has collected, or close your account entirely. Here is exactly how, what goes, and what we are required to keep.

Option 1 — Disconnect Instagram, keep your account

Stops all Instagram data collection but leaves your Rep AI account, your settings, and your deal history in place.

  • In Rep AI: Settings → Instagram → Disconnect.
  • Or from Instagram: open Instagram → Settings and privacy → Website permissions → Apps and websites → find Rep AI → Remove.

Either route revokes the access token immediately. We delete our copy of the token, stop making any further calls to Instagram on your behalf, and delete the profile and media records we pulled. Removing the app from Instagram’s side notifies us automatically — you do not need to do both.

Option 2 — Delete your Instagram data, keep using Rep AI

Removes everything we hold that came from Instagram, including the permanent performance snapshots described in the privacy policy.

Email hello@repaiagent.com from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my Instagram data”. We will confirm within 5 business days and complete it within 30 days.

This is not reversible. The +1 day, +1 week and +1 month readings for past posts cannot be recomputed once deleted — Instagram does not serve historical insights retroactively — so any deal receipt you have not already sent to a brand is gone with them.

Option 3 — Close your account and delete everything

Email hello@repaiagent.com from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We will confirm the request within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days, then email you when it is done.

What is deleted

  • Your login and account record.
  • Your floor price, categories, exclusions, voice and content settings.
  • Your Instagram access token, profile, media records and every performance snapshot.
  • Draft scripts and captions.
  • Your creator profile as shown to brands.

What we keep, and for how long

  • Records of completed deals — the brand, the amount and the date — for 7 years, as business and tax records required by Canadian law. These are stripped of your Instagram data.
  • Correspondence with brands for the same period, for the same reason, and because the brand is a party to it too.
  • Suppression records — if a brand asked never to be contacted again, we keep enough to honour that. Removing it would mean contacting them again by accident.
  • Backups roll off within 90 days. Deleted data may persist in an encrypted backup until then, and is not restored to the live system.

If you cannot access your account

Email hello@repaiagent.com with your Instagram handle and the email you signed up with. We will verify you own the account before deleting anything — that check protects you from someone else deleting your history.
